St Mawes Castle attacked by car
Charles Andrew, Site Supervisor at St Mawes Castle had a shock when he arrived for work on Saturday. Not only was a policeman waiting for him to unlock, so too was this upturned car.
“Whoever was in the car was very lucky, as the occupant(s) were able to decamp.,” said Charles. “The police are trying to find the owner/driver. The car left the road at some speed, demolishing a very sturdy fence, before hitting the roof of the Castle guard house and landing upside down in front of the entrance.”
The car was discovered by a passing dog walker, who rang the police.
