Laureen may remember me posting a plan of the keep from this castle - it has a very interesting shape.

Here is an engraving of Warkworth Castle from 1779, recently added to my collection.

you should repost the plan here to go with the photo!

Actually, I believe it might be possible for a few of the room titles to be wrong? I doubt they had closets, especially that large, probably a servants quarters or something...and the private chamber off the Lords' (great) chamber would have been a private solar (living space). The Parlor would have been a similiar solar as well...

but who can say with the building date, perhaps that is it. Not sure. Great floor plan though and looks to be very efficient use of space.

Perhaps its an updated floor plan and not the original?

I found another plan in one of my books. This may help. You will need to "click" in the top right-hand corner to get the full detail.

Very nice, thanks for sharing that. Knew that a few of those were wrong before, but hadn't counted on so many. Also, love the blow up feature. Makes life a bit easier! Thanks for the work there Andrew!! :Yes_Man:

Here's a couple of aerial views of the castle and village. I have dozens of this one on cd-Rom, and hope to get more views up next week.
Meanwhile, you can always see some of the old postcard views in the Gallery.

I have stayed in the village of Warkworth, in a small cottage about halfway between the castle and main church, overlooking the river on the western side of the village.

This is a print of Warkworth Castle by Thomas Allom, from 1832, and now residing in my collection.

A copper plate engraving of Warkworth Castle from circa 1810, also from my collection.
