Nah- really the basic outline of it is that we wre looking at other business ventures that would pull in more money in an abundance in order to pay for the metalsmithing.
The main reason for this is thatt having the metal smiths/carpenters primarily turning out pieces of work for the general public (as a mainstay to keep them afloat) seems like too much of a headache, is more risky and more difficult to accomplish.
Simply setting up an easier business to run with minimal attention given to it under the corporate umbrella would pull in more income with less headaches and its reliable/simpler.
the funds from that can feed the metalworkers who would be full time employees of the corp turning out our products as a priority. They could also do custom work for the public on the side.
I wish not to have record of the product well be producing just yet but its in the food industry.

Yes..it's Top Secret.

OK, it's Cockentrice to go. We'll be putting it into 7-11's accross the state.

Yeah - Theres Laureen thinking to herself..."I joined forces with WHO???"
We'd like to ship you over a sample off the product but I thn that by the time it arrived... ::no-no.gif
Theyre fabulous, though.
A note here about running groups and CCI and all that ccorp progress stuff:
Things are good here. Ive been puttting more attention on running a business rather than "being a painting contractor" and it has proved workable and a learning expeience. Ive been trying harder and harder to stay out of the business (not get imersed in it) - thats genuinely hard but im managing it to some increased degree.
this actually is pertinent because its my ability to handle and run groups from a distance tha Im learning about and getting better at. When in CT (permanent move) I will try my best to set up and run the groups with a minimal involvemnet from myself. (ie pulling my hair out going in several different directions at once drinking coffee in a panic...)
Anyway. So thatt area has gotten better.
Cleaave and I are also jazzed about the differrent businesses we will be working on togehter.
therer are good things on the horizon.

OK OK, uncalled for.
Yes, I too have been getting in practice for running groups of people instead of being IN them. I'm taking on more and more responsibility as well in other areas, really getting things to a done. Of course this type of thing will be common once we get under way.
I may be able to bring one of these things we are going to sell to CT or even better, perhaps I can make a few when we get there. Ooooh. Now THERE'S a good idea...I'll do that.
Even MORE suprises....

I think we'll wait until the trip to unveil this part. Muhahahaha...

Joined forces with a General Contractor ("GC" from here on or "General")
We both are into flipping real estate in addition to doing regular contracting jobs.
We have anarrangement wherebyIll do paintwork for him on his homes/hell do carp etc forme on mine. Cool deal.
Theres one house Im chasing (but the sellers arent motivated) - house needs to be jacked up and it would ave cost between 9-12K to do it. My cost would have been $1,500. HA! To bad the sellers arent motivated enough- would be a great 50-75K profit by this summer.
Now off to find another one to do the same thing to.

Sounds like you have the right plans and a good partner. Best of luck. It is great when you can do most of the work yourself. By the time our castle project is done and we are able to turn around this house we are purchasing now, we should make a little over 100K profit. Gotta love it. Repos are much harder to find these days though with everyone trying to scoop them up in a hurry.
I don't like dealing with jacking up the homes, mainly because it takes so long if they have had severe settling problems, and if you go to quickly, you end up cracking windows and such. I feel sorry for the lady that owns ours. We were planning on putting the work into it, but she doesn't want to reimburse us for anything. So just quit working on it. This one was jacked at one point, but the idiot didn't know what he was doing, and just created valleys in the flooring. Definately a sensitive project for the average idiot.
Best of luck you two...so when is the move to CT?

Were focusing on real estate here in HI first, and also need to get the corporate affairs under control better. Steves catering business is just barely starting out so..its kinda like postponed till we get over the next hump and can see further. The scene changes by the week so ... know what I mean?
We'll be here for a while. We'll know when to make the move. Right now we dont know.

Yes...wish it all could move faster, but getting this thing set up enough to make enough dough is challenging at this stage. Still working out best routes for the catering business. The Farmer's Market thisseekend, although busy, wasn't as profitable as I had expected due to an unforeseen factor-people don't eat salads apparently! Go figure...the local farmer's market selling all sorts of fresh produce and here I am making fresh salads with it to go and nobody will touch one. Of course my Banana Bread Pudding was a hit...
I'm now re-strategizing. I'm looking for that unique, interestting, profitable, easy, crowd pleasing, show stopping item that I can be known for. I'm even looking at the Ren Fairs for similar ideas. Any ideas?

Meat, what sells the best in your area? How is it prepared?
When people go to a restaurant and order what are their most sought after meals?
No matter what all the salad lovers try to make us believe rabbit food is not the best seller. Ice berg lettus can and will kill rabbits in fact!
It may be several dishes, Fish of some sort, a Currie dish, Bar-B-Que, Fish-N-chips, Hamburgers, designer Pizza!, any and all food can be made to appeal to the Health un-conscious or even the health food fanatic.
My two since is all.

Went out to the North Shore today to look at a paint job- and the surf. It was at the point in front of Waimea Bay - paddle out directly from the backyard right to the take-off zone.
Went to 2 other estimates then to just about the riches neighborhood in Hawaii for another one at theBase of Diamond Head. Crazy day.
...hows the snow for you guys? (heh-heh)
Laureen

Spring is finally here and the bulbs and trees are finally in bloom. Gotta admit, the one reason I love the states...like more than two seasons. It is amazing to watch nature wake up and come alive. Another signal that more hard work is ahead and the time to plant is coming up fast!
Yea! No more snow for 8 more months!

Meg and Jen have been working and planting in the garden now about 2 weeks.
We've brought in a ton of garden mix for the raised beds because our soil is black clay.

The green house is so loaded its hard to walk in and frankly its beginning to give me flash backs.
GREEN JUNGLE, Banana trees, foliage aaaAAAAHHHAAAGGGG !!

Yeah, kinda sucks. Our trees have not sprouted leaves or anything as of yet...but went down to AR yesterday and looks like they have been in full bloom for weeks. Great drive!
As for the VA, drive hours to find out that they haven't scheduled the tests as of yet, so will have to wait and see when those are. They will be the telling factor as to some type of diagnosis. William has been doing a bit better and able to have more "good" days, so keeping the fingers crossed and keeping him on some herbal brain menders, along with cell food. Hope to fix him the rest of the way before the docs get ahold of him! Just have to keep our fingers crossed for now.

Ok I guess I will add myself to the members willing to be exchange labor.
Lets see I have experrence in ornamental pounds, fish pounds, pools, streams, rivers etc.
This doe's not include Motes
I can also do general Labor, just about anything involving work...LOL
I dont really have a specialized trade, such as masonry or anything so I could not provide that type of work.

I'm honored and thank you for putting you name down to help where possible.

I think your closest builder so far is Miss Laureen in MA. If I was you I would pretend not to know any thing about house painting, plumbing, kitchen and or bath re-building.

Some day maybe our list will be large enough to find the help that is needed in our areas.
