I have a request please Laureen,
In your meanderings around the web have you or would you please locate images of Da Vinci's Picture of the last supper?
I'd like one after it was cleaned lately and definitely taken after 1954 as most were taken around then.
It seems there is some rumor that the person to Christs right is actually Mary Magdalene which shows up better in images after the original picture was cleaned and the first coating of paint was brought out.
Any Help?
Laureen
sure...I'll see what I can dig up for you.....just an FYI.....it may well be mary Magdelene.....I saw something on the history channel....they actually found original scrolls in Egypt...the scriptures according to Mary....meaning she was actually an Apostle...they think they were purposely leftout because Peter and Mary were having a power struggle after Jesus....and that the whole prostitute thing was made up by Peter after Jesus departed...supposedly, according to the history channel program they are beginning to think Mary was supposed to take over the duties after Jesus died, not Peter.
Laureen
try these.....I'll keep looking for more results also...

I know John is supposed to be seated to the right of Jesus but he certainly looks like a girl to me...even before the last restoration in 1999
Duncan
Thanks!!
I really don't think John was that feminine appearing with long red hair, cripes thats begging to look like the rumor might be true which opens up something of a large can of worms!!

Thanks again Lady!
Laureen
changes a lot of things doesn't it? I think its amazing they found original papyrus scrolls with Mary's story...almost fully in tact except some ant holes....if I remember the program I think the Church was trying to suppress the discovery and then the importance of it...surprise surprise.....can't let the women think they have any power in the church now can we....
Thecleaver
Laureen, do you remember what show that was? I have an interest in that period of history.
Laureen
no, sorry...but it was the history channel I believe...if it wasnt the history channel it was the discovery channel....it was right around the Easter season I think because there was a lot of Catholic Church Jesus type programing.......and I think because the Passion had just come out too.

I'll see if I can do a search for you.....BRB...
Laureen
Couldn't find archives but I think it may have been their program Banned from The Bible...couldnt pull up info about it....I still think it was their Easter programming because I remember a show about Pontious Pilate and Bible Code stuff
Laureen
Ok...I just couldn't let it go....I found the DVD for sale and it has a brief synopsis

Thecleaver
The ten minute miracle! Thanks! Pretty soon I'm gonna make something up for you to research just to see what you come up with. In kitchens sometimes, Chefs will tell a new apprentice to find him a "parsley brush" or some other imaginary utensil and tell the kid to keep looking around town and send him to neighboring restaurants where the cooks know the gag until the kid figures it out! Scott drinks moat*#@er, we'll have to have something like that for CCI juniors.... you know, "Go get me a Hammenstimple. ..Well, go ask around if you don't know what it is! How else are you going to learn things around here? By the way...what's your suit size?..."

I'm off tomorrow, so I'll check out all that info you sent our way lately. You're totally cool, Blondie! cool.gif
Laureen
How mean is that?????? cries.gif
Thecleaver
Yes, but you know, after THAT one, the guy really feels like one of the crew..besides, it builds, um, character. Ok...it's pretty mean! But fun-nyyyyyyy..... biggrin.gif
Laureen
one of the crew? the poor sod feels like a chump!!!!
Thecleaver
Not really, because everyone has gone through it, and after it's over, they welcome him in with open arms and make him a brother. In French kitchens, you have to be tough to handle the stress, so if you can't take that little joke, you shouldn't be there anyway. Shit..they used to make you wash dishes for year before letting you even peel a potato! Good thing things have changed a little, but you still find the old school guys out there.
Laureen
I worked in restaraunts....most of the time the kitchen guys sucked....not all but most....
Duncan
Here it comes guy's, how Blondie worked as a waitress, beerchug.gif
Laureen
oh please...can't even be bothered....I hated it....enough said.....lol mice_carrying_bread.gif
Duncan
Oh please?!?
Doesn't sound like it bothered you to much or you would have tonnes to say about it.
But all right, it can be dropped here. rasp.gif
Laureen
worst years of my life.....it feels like a lifetime ago...almost like somebody elses life.....if that makes any sense...prob not cuz I'm blonde but you're a redhead so you should understand...LOL.. rasp.gif
Duncan
I understand that working in restaurants is not the life I prefer from hard experience, never worked as a waitress as I'm not built for that.
Now about the red head understanding the Blondie, we don't understand them any more then the rest of the hair colors, their still a mystery.
Laureen
LMAO...got news for ya....we don't get your kind either!!! Men completely boggle the female mind....it blows our little minds that men can be so simple...and I don't mean simple as in stupid(bad thing) I mean simple as in uncomplicated and straight forward(good thing)
Duncan
I think it all goes back to the body's chemistry, cool1.gif I mean we guys have one major hormone and you females? woman Something like 2,000? all reacting to each other all the time, must be hard jump1.gif rasp.gif
Laureen
you have no idea......pure torture....for you too!! LOL
Duncan
yeah but it wouldn't be the same if things weren't this way laughlong.gif Yes_Men.gif
Laureen
true...nothing like the good old challenge of trying to figure out the opposite sex.....LOL....its a time tested classic...
Thecleaver
Yes. When the Yin catches up with the Yang, then the world simply implodes from a lack of opposites. infinity.gif

But to put things in perspective, maybe an anecdote would help with your understanding of the male mind, Laureen:

A truth seekers climbs to the top of the highest mountain in order to seek council with the Great Enlightened One. When he arrives, he asks the guru where he can find Faith and Hope in this world, to which the Guru replies, "They're in the kitchen making burgers...did you bring the brewskis?"

Having reached enlightenment, he went back down to get ketchup.... rasp.gif
Laureen
LMAO......who said I WANT to understand??? I LIKE the mystery.....he he he....truthfully, I like that men think very staightforward....very simple...very logical....women complicate and its almost all emotional...we have to "feel" stuff....it gets to be annoying sometimes....sometimes I just want to think simple...well, some days I just want to think.....LOL....

BTW, I'm still kinda geeked from our conversation....its the voice thing again....LOL
Thecleaver
(In the voiceover of James Mason) How's this Laureen? I feel I know you from somewhere...could it have been during the war?...Bruwundia, perharps?

nah...too serious. How about this (voiceover of Elmar Fudd) Why, yes Lauween..you Do seem to hab a widdle bit of bwond woots showing...

Too goofy. oh well, you just have to live with my real voice, no matter how geeked you get! What are the primary manifestations of getting "geeked" BTW? ??? wacko.gif biggrin.gif
Laureen
Nothing wrong with your real voice.....it just reminds me of someone I know....LOL...not a bad thing, I rather like the person your voice reminds me of....it was just surprising....I have to fight off the urge to match your voice with my friends face when speaking with you LOL...cuz if I don't, I'm in for one hell of a surprise in Ct...unless of course you look like him too...then I'm just gonna go home..I'll be way freaked out...LOL

Hmm..sorry to dredge up old topics, but something of interest to point out....

We know that Jerusalem and surrounding areas were the backdrop for the Bible and it's stories. We also know that primarily the Jewish faith has a real thing about men and their facial hair in that point in history - and how shamefull it was to be without it.

If you study the paintings on the above links carefully, you may notice that in the original painting (before restoration) the only person without facial hair is sitting to Jesus's right hand side - which would tend to dictacte a woman. And too, by examining closely the face...that isn't a man!

Now after the restoration was complete, there are actually two figures without facial hair...John (which is actually Mary) and Phillip (heavier set on the left). One of those things you have to look very closely for. They seem to have extended Phillips chin out, where you can barely tell on the original that there was actually facial hair to begin with. Kinda makes you wonder as to who is covering what up? Truly amazing...

..and now back to our regular broadcasting....
Laureen
Very good points Galla...to be honest, I have never paid too much attention to this. I happened to see the History channel program and found it particularly interesting. I suppose I sholdn't be so surprised by things like this but I'm always amazed. And people wonder why I have issues with the church.
Galla
Hehe...you too eh?! Unfortunately all through history, they have changed and manipulated things to their ways. Hard to have faith in men, easy to have faith in god.
Laureen
I agree with you 100%. I have taken to trusting my heart and not the words of man on matters of faith.
Duncan
It seems fitting with the new movie coming out and discussions flying around that this topic might see new posts.
This little tid bit came from Megan on our way home today.

We know for sure the Third Reich was after historic artifacts and they were heavily into genetics trying to breed a super race of humans.
So whats the chance they had knowledge that Christs children were alive or at the least might exist.
That one thought ties so much history and religion together that it makes the book Da Vinci Code more likely a possibility instead of fiction
Laureen
anything is possible....who knows what the heck is kept from the public...just look at the govt...
