Thanks AJR for a very useful post of these interesting engravings. I don't know of another source where they are all together like this - are they from your own collection?.
Being from Yorkshire I notice that only a few Yorkshire castles are in the list - did the Buck brothers do more?. One typo - Castleton (Peveril) castle is of course in Derbyshire, not Yorkshire.

I only have one original - the one of Crickhowell Castle, in Wales. The others are just copies. I would like to see all the Bucks' views of castles in one place - hence this posting.

I have a couple more to upload, but I admit that Yorkshire castles do appear to be missing. I'm surprised not to have found any reference to major castles such as Richmond, Scarborough, Pickering, Knaresborough, Bolton, Helmsley, Middleham, Skipton, Spofforth or Sandal. I have found reference to their Sheriff Hutton Castle engraving (North view), which was published in 1721. However, I have never seen a copy of this. I will keep on looking.

(Note: As at 3rd May 2005, I have found copies of Richmond and Scarborough, but will continue looking for the others)

It's also good to have someone else around from the same country as myself, albeit some distance away. I like to be kept up-to-date with castle info from all over England.
